In my experience virtually all events are unique and different. Whether we are your Wedding DJ in Norwich or your Prom DJ in Ipswich, each event will have unique timings.
When I meet couples, timing during your wedding are always discussed. I will work with you to ensure everything will run smoothly for your big day. For example, when will your ‘first dance’ be? Many couples prefer an early first dance say at 7.30. This isn’t suitable for everyone, and 8.15 or later may work better for you and your guests.Other factors may be timing of the evening buffet or cutting of the wedding cake. These are areas which I will be happy to discuss with you, to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Many couple book their photographer until a certain time. I am experienced of working with everyone to sure an unforgettable day!
Below is a typical example of a wedding event timings for a wedding disco evening reception which took place during 2019:
18:00 Disco arrives at the wedding reception to set up equipment (unless an early set has been requested).
19:15 Disco starts to play background music
20:10 Cutting of the wedding cake announced
20.15 Bride & Grooms ‘First Dance’ of the evening
20.30 Evening Buffet is served
21.00 Dancing
23:45 Bride & Groom depart for honeymoon
24:00 Reception Finishes
01:00 Disco departs from premises
There are no definite rules and the key always lies in what you the couple would like. This article is meant to give a rough idea on event timings and some tips in planning your special day.
I’d be delighted to discuss your plans further with you and answer your questions. My pre-wedding meetings are free and hundreds of couples have found them an invaluable part of planning for their special day.
