Wedding Disco Planning

With over 30 years of experience of being a Wedding DJ, I am always glad to provide clients with my thoughts on how to make your day that extra bit special. This article gives a timeline from a 2018 of wedding disco planning.

Making your day truly unique

Each wedding is truly unique. That’s why many clients now welcome my wedding consultation meeting, or through Skype if it isn’t possible to meet up. At such a meeting, as your Wedding DJ, I will fully understand your wedding plans, timings, colour schemes, music requirements, first dance song and other details which makes your event flow smoothly.

Example of Planning for your wedding disco

Below is a typical example of a 2018 wedding and the chronological sequence of events.

January 2018 – Laura called me to discuss booking a wedding disco for September 2018 in Bury St Edmunds. I suggested a brief meeting to discuss their special day.

January 2018 – I met Laura and Steve at their home in Thetford. We talked about their special day in September and how they were wanting an experienced and friendly disco for their evening reception at the All Saints Hotel Bury St Edmunds. We discussed timings, music and I shared photographs of previous wedding receptions. Laura wanted to add some mood lighting for a ‘wow’ factor to match her wedding colours.

February 2018 – Wedding disco booked and contract issued.

May 2018 – Steve contacted me to discuss a surprise for one of their wedding guests. Steve made me aware and asked me to make announcements during the evening, as he wanted to create a surprise for some of his evening reception guests. This is because Steve had not seen many family members for some time.

August 2018 – Laura and Steve sent me a list of their 20 chosen music requests for the evening. The Bride & Grooms ‘First Dance’ was the wonderful Etta James ‘At Last’. The final balance of the wedding fee was paid. I arranged a call with Laura to ensure I am aware of any final details ahead of their big day.

September 2018 – Their big day! I arrived at the venue at 6.00pm. The evening reception starts at 7.30. The first dance followed the cutting of the cake at 8.15pm.

September 2018 – I lovely ‘thank you’ testimonial.

I would be delighted to assist you with your wedding disco planning. I look forward to hearing from you.
