Book your perfect wedding disco by booking East Anglian Mobile Discos.

This article sets out some advice on what clients should consider to ensure they make the right choice for themselves.

1. Initial contact

Your perfect wedding disco. Many clients make initial contact by email. This is a great way to ask some initial questions and to glean information from their website or other social media sites without feeling committed.

Usually after an initial email exchange, I would highly recommend a phone call or a Skype/FaceTime to talk further about your plans and what the disco can offer you. You can tell a lot from how somebody sounds and whether you think they are the right person to entertain you and your guests.

2. Experience is king

My view is that it takes many years to become a competent wedding DJ. There’s a lot of work and dedication required. This includes a vast knowledge of music, the ability to read the audience, and effectively communicate to guests and other providers such as the photographer, caterer and the venue.

I would strongly advise anyone looking to book a DJ that they ask a few important questions to give you sufficient peace of mind that they can offer you the service you require.

3. Meeting your wedding DJ

Most professional DJs offer a free meeting option with their prospective clients. This can be prior to booking them, or possibly later to discuss the final arrangements for the wedding. Again, this is an opportunity to understand more about what they can offer you, and answer other questions. The meeting can also take place at the wedding venue. This is particularly useful to both the client and DJ to discuss the layout of the room etc.

4. Music

Your perfect wedding disco – The whole party/reception will be a success if you & your guests have a great time dancing the night away.

An experienced wedding DJ will play the music you want for all age groups, have a detailed understanding of all music genres and be willing to play your requests.

If you are having a traditional ‘first dance’, your DJ will ensure he has your special song that’s played at a time to suit you.

What about playlists? I encourage my clients to have input into the evening’s music. I welcome playlists. My advice to clients is always to allow sufficient space to allow guests to make requests during the evening.

5. Lighting

Your perfect wedding disco – Don’t rely on all disco lighting being the same. My advice would be to ask a few basic questions.

The most important thing is that the lights must be fully controlled and that are not shining in everyone’s faces!

For the ‘first dance’ I would personally offer a wash or spotlight or possibly white or red hearts for that wow factor. Photographers also love this option for your first dance photos.

Mood or uplighting is also a great option which offers that wow factor. You should be able to select the colour of your choice.

6. Those finishing touches

One thing that makes your perfect wedding disco is those finishing touches, but can your disco offer these?

Confetti canons for your ‘first dance’ gives a true ‘wow’ factor and wonderful photos.

Early setups are so useful and can save so much time and make your day flow so much better.

Flexibility. Will your DJ be flexible? For example, will they provide wedding breakfast music if required?

Radio microphones provided for those important speeches.

7. Conclusions – Your perfect wedding disco

With East Anglian Discos I can answer a big YES to the above questions as your perfect wedding disco option.
