Frequently Asked Questions - Mobile Discos
With over 20 years of experience as a Wedding & Party DJ, below are the most frequently questions:
Do you cater for all age groups?
Absolutely. I am vastly experienced catering for all age groups from toddlers through to 90th Birthday parties. Not many discos actually work with such a wide breadth of age ranges – but I do!
How Experienced are you?
I am one of the most experienced DJ’s in East Anglia. This means that you are in safe hands, as my experience will ensure you will have a successful function. I cannot stress just how important it is to book a highly experienced mobile DJ like myself to ensure that your party is a success.
How much do you charge?
My fees depend on a number of factors such as the hours of your function, whether an early set up is required, location, additional services. However, one thing is guaranteed is that I offer outstanding value.
Music – Can we make requests and lists?
Yes. I’m always delighted to receive your requests both on the night or in the form or a playlist. From my experience, I recommend playlists should be no more than approx 25 songs. This gives ample scope for requests on the night.
How far do you travel as we would like to book you?
I do cover the whole of the UK by request. My main areas are Norwich, Norfolk, Suffolk, Ipswich, Cambridge, Essex, Herts and South Lincolnshire.
How far in advance should I book you?
I recommend booking as soon as you know the date you require. This is because it gives you peace of mind, and certain dates are very popular and in high demand such as July, September & December.
Are you Insured?
I have £10 million public liability insurance cover and portable appliance test certificates giving you peace of mind.
How loud will your music be?
I will always control the music to suit you. I also recognise the important of guests being able to talk to one another! I use only the highest quality equipment for ultimate clarity.
Will you provide disco lighting?
Yes. The lighting is LED and computer controlled. This means I can alter speed, brightness, direction and colours. For events such a wedding, you can dance to your colour scheme such as the bride and groom’s ‘first dance of the evening’.
Can we meet you?
Yes. I also offer clients FaceTime and WhatsApp.
May we see you working?
95% of my work is for private functions such as weddings and birthday parties. In these circumstances, I have to respect my client’s privacy. However, I do provide links on this website to YouTube videos and gallery photos.
What does an early set up entail?
This is a popular choice particularly but not exclusively for weddings. An early set up means that I may access the marquee or venue at an agreed earlier time, in readiness for a start later in the day. It can save time, and make things easier also for the venue, and makes the event flow better. This does involve an additional fee.
How do I book you?
I issue a booking contract with my terms and conditions. You sign and return a copy of the contract to me with a booking fee which is typically £100. The balance is payable 14 days prior to the event. I cannot hold a date open unless the signed booking contract is returned on time with the agreed deposit.
How long does it take you to set up and pack down?
I advise clients to allow 1 hour. Sometimes it may be a little quicker.
Do you work in Marquees?
Yes. Marquees are very popular for summer wedding receptions and also for parties/corporate events. A number of hotels such as Dunston Hall Norwich have permanent marquees.
We really like the Mood/Wash Lighting option, would you provide more detail?
Certainly. This is a very popular choice at wedding receptions and birthday parties. I’ve included some sample pictures on this website. Some clients require the whole room to be lit in a colour of their choice, but also having the room partially coloured is very popular. Prices start from just £75.
What’s happens if you are unwell or able to attend?
I work closely with an exclusive network of highly experienced DJ’s in the Region giving peace of mind. This allows the same high level of service to my customers.
