What were the most requested songs last year?

The list below relates to the top 30 most requested songs requested by my clients in 2023. This is based upon client & guests requests only.

The purpose of the list is to give clients an indication of what are the most popular songs, but no function is ever the typical function and they are all unique. That’s why I love being a function DJ.

Each function is different and therefore so do the requests and what I play:

Analysis

The data I used to compile the above list comes from a mixture of suggestions made in advance of the party by Clients playlists and also requests on the night. I have excluded any DJ choices as I wanted to highlight the requests made specifically by my clients.

Classic Songs Don’t Age

It’s clear that classic and well known party songs like S Club 7’s Reach, ABBA’s Dancing Queen, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Macarena and Saturday Night are still standing the tests of time and are as popular as they ever were.

Some older songs such as Tina Turner’s Proud Mary has increased in popularity over the past few years.

Only 1 song from the past couple of years features in the Top 30 – Ed Sheeran’s Shivers (from 2022). It will be interesting to compare this chart in 12 months time.
