Wedding Reception – That extra special touch.

In this article, I’ve got a couple of great suggesions to add some real fun and something rather different to your wedding reception. Let me explain further……….

1. The Shoe Game

Many years ago on ITV there was a classic TV program called Mr & Mrs where a couple asked were asked some questions and mostly humorous questions about one another.

In my experience, most couples choose to play the wedding shoe game during their wedding reception, since it’s a great way to fill a lull during the dinner service. It’s most commonly played right after speeches or just after the cake cutting, when all eyes are still on the couple. Just don’t wait too long: Once your guests are fully partying on the dance floor, you probably wouldn’t then want to disrupt the dancers!

At your wedding I offer a very special version of that classic game with a slight twist.

The couple sits separate chairs back to back. On their right hand they hold the brides shoe and on the left hand the grooms shoe. I then asked them 20 questions. For example who is the most untidiest. Don’t worry, the questions are designed to create a giggle! Upon each question they give their answer by raising the show they believe is the correct answer.

I will organise everything for you and I’m also very happy to provide all 20 to 30 questions, but some couple like to provide me with a list of questions too providing that unique personal touch to the proceedings.

What’s the Cost?

Wedding receptions – that extra special touch. If the Shoe game takes place within my standard 5 or 6 hour wedding package, there is no additional cost to you. I will provide all the questions and compare the event with a radio microphone.

If you require the game to take place during a longer duration of the day or evening, then I will be delighted to provide you with a customised quotation.

How long does it last for?

20-30 mins including preparations & announcements etc.

2. Confetti Canon

Confetti Canon - Wedding Reception

Wedding receptions – that special touch.

Another great way to add that wow factor to your wedding is the classic confetti canon.

What is a confetti Canon?

They are released during the wedding first dance, but they can happen at any time.

A large amount of confetti explodes into the air adding a really dramatic and magical effect to the first dance and looks absolutely stunning on your photos.

These are professional entertainment grade canons which are 1 meter in length holding 1000’s of colour petals.

Any other considerations?

Through courtesey, I would strongly recommend that you advise your venue that you wish to have a confetti canon.

Common Confetti Canon FAQ

  1. Who lets off the cannon – I will or I can instruct (a sober!) guest to do so. It adds to the personal touch. It’s a very easy process.
  2. May we select the colours? – Yes. Not a problem. There is a wide selection of colours, just ask me.
  3. Is there a bang – Yes don’t worry as it’s not that loud at all.
  4. How many will I need? – 1 is usually ample. If it’s a very large venue, then I would recommend 2.
  5. Cost? – I currently offer this service at £40 for 1 canon & £70 for 2.

3. Mood/Wash Lighting

What is mood lighting?

These are wireless coloured LED uplighters which are used to transform a venue’s atmosphere, creating a desired mood or complementing a colour theme. It adds a special touch and ‘wow factor to wedding receptions.

You pick the colour of your choice and it looks stunning!
